Residential electricity price by state
Sortable. Price is the latest EIA month; the bill column multiplies that price by the state average household usage, so it is an estimate rather than a published figure.

How to read this
A low price does not guarantee a low bill. Louisiana has among the cheapest electricity in the country and a bill above the national median, because households there use more of it. The rank column orders states by price, not by bill.
The estimate uses each state's average household usage, so a one-bedroom flat and a large house in the same state differ by more than two states differ from each other.
